2024- A Year of Good Vibes
- 10 Jan, 2025
Looking back at 2024, it was a mix of planned adventures and random good stuff. Let me dump my memory cache real quick.
Started the year freezing my butt off in Naggar, Manali. The homestay was straight-up ice-box cold 🥶, and ironically, no snow.
But man, those mountain views made up for the chattering teeth.
January also took me to Bhubaneshwar for our friends wedding 🥳 - nothing beats Indian weddings for catching up with old pals.
The highlight? Finally grabbed my passport and jetted off to Thailand with my wife for her 32nd birthday. First overseas trip together, and those Thai beaches didn’t disappoint.
Sometimes you just need to chill on a beach with your person, you know?
Closer to home, became a regular at this new coffee spot called Kinya.
Decent coffee without burning through your wallet - that’s rare in Bangalore! Actually, this whole year was kind of a coffee exploration arc. Tried so many cafes around the city, my caffeine tolerance is probably through the roof now.
My plant collection hit 70+ this year (don’t judge, it’s better than having 70 npm packages in a project).
There’s something weirdly satisfying about keeping them alive and watching them grow.
The annual road trip tradition continued with Chikmagalur and Coorg. Nothing beats driving through those coffee estates with good music and better company.
Speaking of good company, one of my closest friends became a dad! 🥳 Their little boy is probably the cutest bug I’ve seen - no critical errors there.
On the personal development branch, finally tackled that persistent bug - the belly situation. Dropped 14 kgs this year. No fancy diets or crazy workout commits, just consistent small changes that added up. Now my old jeans have better test coverage, if you know what I mean. In 2025 I will be aiming to get my 6-pack abs.🤪
Diwali was quiet this year - sometimes you need those low-key releases.
December brought some interesting business meetups (aka adults trying to figure out life), and wrapped up the year with Christmas at my sister’s place.
The best part about 2024? It wasn’t about any one big breakthrough feature. It was all these small commits that made the year what it was - trying new stuff, spending time with people who matter, and taking care of myself.
Here’s to more adventures in 2025. Hope the production environment of life keeps running smooth for all of us!
P.S. - Zomaland was lit! Nothing like good music and even better food to make you forget about those pending pull requests.
